2010 Canadian Waiting List Report

From the Fraser Institute:
“Among the various specialties, the shortest total waits exist for medical oncology (4.9 weeks), radiation oncology (5.5 weeks), and elective cardiovascular surgery (10.0 weeks). Conversely, patients wait longest between a GP referral and orthopaedic surgery (35.6 weeks), plastic surgery (31.5 weeks), and neurosurgery (29.7 weeks). There have been large in creases between 2009 and 2010 in the waits for ophthalmology (+ 4.5 weeks), internal medicine (+ 2.2 weeks), cardiovascular surgery (+ 1.9 weeks), general surgery (+ 1.9 weeks), and orthopaedic surgery (+ 1.9 weeks).”
