Dividing the Medicare Pie Pits Doctor Against Doctor – WSJ.com.

The convoluted manner in which well over half of the health care industry is directed in costly and dangerous. It introduces a degree of separation between reality and how resources are allocated, which will inevitably lead to gross market distortions. The result will be that the American market over invests in some procedures while under investing in others; and that’s under the best case scenario where any parts of the market receive as much or more resources than they should.

As Medicare becomes worse and worse at handling some procedures, it becomes increasingly important for patients to be able to find alternative means of taking care of themselves. In turn it becomes important for doctors to make it easy for patients to find them. We expect MediBid to become an important part of this market correction.
