An Interactive Medical Directory

When you register as a Bidder on MediBid, you’ll have access to cash paying patients seeking care. Compare that to a phone book ad – not everyone who picks up a phone book is looking for a medical specialist, but everyone one who joins MediBid is. Patients pay a registration fee to ensure that only serious Seekers are requesting Bids from you. Cash paying patients can review your profile in our interactive medical directory, and send a request to you directly asking you to review their information and Bid. Similarly, you can browse through the cash paying patients currently trying to find a doctor or surgeon. You can’t do that with a traditional doctor directory.

Every Patient is Unique

A medical billing code only allows you to do so much within a set price. With MediBid, you don’t need any billing codes. Every cash paying patient is unique, which means you can customize your Bid to best suit you and the cash paying patient.

Many medical providers are concerned about giving a Bid to a cash paying patient that hasn’t provided enough information upfront. If a particular cash paying patient asking for treatment doesn’t provide enough information, give them a Bid for a consultation only, or ask them to provide more information. Cash paying patients are direct contracting with you, not us. Their health is their decision, and they value your opinion. That’s why cash paying patients want to see you and will pay cash to do so. All patient agreements on MediBid are made with the understanding that the price in the bid you gave them does not include complications. Register Now

What do you mean “Bid?”

Your Bid on MediBid is a custom price quote given directly to the cash paying patient. Just as a contractor might give a bid for a job, medical specialists are given the opportunity to give a ‘job bid’ for a cash paying patient. This Bid is much more than a price quote because it lists what you will and won’t include in that price based on the unique needs of the cash paying patient. MediBid lets you take back medicine by setting your own rates, terms, and conditions. Cash paying patients are not looking for the lowest priced medical care on MediBid, but they do want a doctor that will give them honest, upfront pricing with quality care. Your Bid is an offer to provide the service they need on terms that are right for you.

“I only want certain types of patients”

If you only want to see new cash paying patients for a certain type (or certain types) of procedure that you perform, then only check the box(es) next to that procedure when you Register. Even if you only select one procedure, we can still help you connect with cash paying patients looking for that one procedure you want to offer. It’s that simple! There are hundreds of procedures available on MediBid. If you perform a procedure that is not listed, simply call or email us, and we’ll add it to our available procedures.

“I want to enhance my practice with domestic and international medical tourists”

Registering on MediBid.com can help you find cash paying patients willing to travel for care within the US or from international destinations. We also network with many benefit administrators in the US and Canada. In fact, a large portion of our patients come from Canada and are looking to get off the long waiting lists they’re on for medical care. Thousands of patients travel overseas for care every year, both to and from the United States. MediBid will help you connect with them.

“I want to improve my cash flow but don’t have time for much marketing”

Cash flow: the Achilles’ heel of medical practices. You provide care and incur expenses, only to receive payment 30 to 180 days later and probably at a rate cut well under your actual costs. With MediBid, the money comes in when the patient comes in because MediBid patients are cash paying patients. There’s no waiting for payment. MediBid will help your practice grow and become more profitable. Set up your profile and let MediBid handle the marketing for you.

“Third Party Payers control my reimbursements and patient load”

Whether you are looking to opt out of Medicare and third party payer systems or not, MediBid’s ‘elegant simplicity’ makes it easy for you to place a bid. Having practicing physicians on the MediBid board helps us keep a system design with doctors in mind. Once you create your profile, you will get an email with new cash paying patient matches based on the procedures you selected. Imagine replacing four MediCare patients (with MediCare paying only $5 each) with one willing to pay $20 cash. Wouldn’t you be able to spend four times as long with that one cash paying patient and give them your full attention? No billing or coding needed, just an upfront payment from a cash paying patient who values your time and skills, allowing you the freedom to give the quality care cash paying patients both crave and deserve. Even if you aren’t ready to fully opt out of Medicare, you can supplement your practice with a few cash paying patients at a time until you find the balance that’s right for you.

*In the medical world, a commission or kick back for a medical service is considered illegal fee splitting. However, just as a specialist can place an ad in the phone book to market to consumers, it’s both ethical and legal for a medical specialist to market their services to patients through similar directory listings, assuming that the patient pays the doctor directly. Patients on MediBid will contract with you and pay you directly. After you join MediBid with an annual registration, there won’t be any other fees.
