X-Rays are most commonly used to detect the pathology of the skeletal system, and in smaller cases to detect diseases in soft tissue. X-Rays are especially effective in detecting pneumonia, lung cancer and pulmonary edema. A patient with a bone fracture or respiratory problems may get an X-ray performed for diagnosis.
