Tumor Removal (Neurosurgery)

Body Area: Legs / Feet
Body Parts: Thigh
Symptoms: Lump
Description:
Tumor removal refers to the surgical removal of an abnormal growth. A tumor is an abnormal growth in the body that can be benign (non-cancerous) or malignant (cancerous). Tumor removal is common in cancer patients, as it is a primary treatment individually or in combination with radiation and chemotherapy. Once surgical removal of a tumor has been decided, an oncologic surgeon will remove the entire tumor, taking with it a large section of the surrounding normal tissue, while preserving healthy tissue.
