Description:
When enlarged facet joints place pressure on the nerves in the spine, spinal stenosis decompression surgery can be used to trim back the facet joints to allow more room for the nerve. A laminectomy is usually a part of this procedure for lumbar vertebrae in order to expose the nerve roots. Patients are usually in the hospital for 1 to 3 days.
