Sudden changes that may prompt a screening consultation with a psychiatrist include: obsessive scary thoughts, disabling fear, sudden anger, sad feelings for long periods of time, forgetfulness, changes in judgment, confusion, forgetfulness, memory loss, unexplainable panic, or other sudden changes in personality.
