Prostate Exam Primary Care (Family Medicine)
Body Area: Male Specific
Body Parts: Genitals
Symptoms: Frequent Urge to Urinate
Description:
A prostate exam is usually advised for men over the age of 50 if they have not had one, or due to difficulty or frequent urination. The examination is short and usually painless, but can still be uncomfortable for many men. The doctor will insert a finger into your rectum and palpitate in a circular motion to examine the lobes and groove of the prostate gland.
