MRI with Gadolinium (Imaging)

Body Area: Chest
Body Parts: General Chest Area
Symptoms: Food Getting Stuck
Description:
There are cases where gadolinium, a contrast agent, is applied in traditional MRIs to produce more detailed images of the organ or organs being analyzed. Under most circumstances gadolinium is entirely safe to enhance MRI results. Individuals without properly functioning kidneys are advised to not use gadolinium in conjunction with an MRI, as nephrogenic systemic fibrosis can occur.
