MR Angiogram Abdomen (Imaging)

Body Area: Female Specific
Body Parts: Genitals
Symptoms: Pain or Tenderness
Description:
An abdominal angiogram uses a contrast dye which is injected into the bloodstream, and illuminates blood vessels in the abdomen, to diagnose blood vessel disease in the small and large intestine, locate tumors and aneurysms and as a treatment to deliver drugs into liver tumors and clot profuse bleeds. This is an invasive procedure as an incision is made at either the thigh or groin, and a catheter inserted into a major artery in the abdomen. After the procedure is complete, the physician will examine the angiogram for signs of disease for abnormality.
