The Maintenance of Wakefulness Test (MWT) is used to measure how alert you are during the day when inactive and if you can stay awake. During the test, you will be isolated from outside factors that can influence your ability to fall asleep. This test is useful to determine if the sleep disorder treatment you are using is having any positive effect on you. It can also be useful for patients with narcolepsy.
