Lithotripsy (Nephrology and Urology)
		Body Area: Male Specific
		Body Parts: Genitals
		Symptoms:  Pain during Urination
		Description:
Extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy or ESWL, is a non-invasive method of treating persistent kidney stones. The lithotripter attempts to fragment large kidney stones by emitting a high-intensity acoustic pulse that cavitates as it enters the ureter. These fragments may be pulled out via a catheter after they are fragmented enough.
