In some cases, the hemroid (hemorrhoid) will not need to be removed (hemorrhoidectomy). Small hemroids can be treated with a chemical shot to reduce the swelling, by have a band put around them to cut off circulation, by freezing with liquid nitrogen, or by stitching or stapling back against the anal wall. These procedures can be done with or without anesthesia, depending on your comfort needs.
