Eyeglasses are a form of corrective vision that have lenses attached to a frame that is worn in front of the eyes to enhance the focal length of the eye's natural lens. Eyeglasses are typically prescribed by optometrists with a specific prescription strength corresponding with the severity of nearsightedness or farsightedness. A prior eye examination is required to prescribe the right strength eyeglasses.
