Dialysis (Nephrology and Urology)

Body Area: Male Specific
Body Parts: Genitals
Symptoms: Decreased Urination
Description:
Dialysis is the procedure by which the blood is cleansed if the kidneys are not properly removing toxins naturally from the blood. The procedure can be a one-time procedure or routinely performed, depending on the patient. It is usually associated with kidney disease, diabetes, or high blood pressure. Dialysis filters the blood and removes excess waste and water using an external filtration system, or within the body with the use of a fluid called a dialysate.
