Dekompressor Discectomy (Pain Management)

Body Area: Back / Spine
Body Parts: Lower Spine
Symptoms: Stiffness
Description:
A Dekompressor Discectomy is considered to be a minimally invasive spine surgery. A needle is used, guided by x-ray imaging, to remove material from a herniated disc. Only a tiny amount of material is removed, to keep the spine stable without any bone graft surgery required. Removing material from the disc relieves pressure on the nerves because the nucleus of the disc will reabsorb the herniated material to make the disc whole again.
