Bilevel positive airway pressure (BPAP) (Sleep Med
Body Area: Head / Neck
Body Parts: Brain
Similar to the CPAP and ASV, the BPAP is a machine to regulate air pressure while you sleep. The BPAP builds to a higher pressure when you inhale and decreases to a lower pressure when you exhale. This treatment is designed to assist those with a weak breathing pattern. Some BPAP devices can be set to automatically deliver a breath if the device detects you haven't taken one after so many seconds.
