Adaptive servo-ventilation (ASV) (Sleep Medicine)

Body Area: Head / Neck
Body Parts: Brain
Symptoms: Fatigue
The Adaptive servo-ventilation (ASV) is a recently approved airflow device. The ASV "learns" your normal breathing pattern and stores the information in a built-in computer. After you fall asleep, the machine uses pressure to normalize your breathing pattern and prevent pauses in your breathing. Although very similar to the CPAP, ASV may be a better choice for some people with difficult cases of sleep apnea.
