Actigraphy Monitoring (Sleep Medicine)
Body Area: Head / Neck
Body Parts: Brain
Actigraphy Monitoring is a non-invasive method to monitor human rest vs. activity cycles. An actimetry sensor is worn by the patient to monitor activity levels of the shoulder, waist, or wrist sometimes for weeks at a time. This monitoring is useful to evaluate for diagnosis or to evaluate effectiveness of current treatment for insomnia, circadian rhythm sleep disorders, excessive sleepiness, and restless legs syndrome.
