The third party payer system and managed care is a system based on healthcare bean counters and medical bureaucrats regulating expenditures on your medical care, thereby effectively regulating your health. The term MediCrats, accurately describes these people, since they effectively are medical rulers. MediCrats are not at all affiliated with any political party, just as bureaucrats are not.
Ralph F. Weber, a Canadian who emigrated to the US as a means of escaping Canada Health, documents the history of US health care and how MediCrats have managed to distort and complicate health care so that today, our freedom and fortune is in jeopardy. His new book is an update to the widely-read book, MediCrats: Medical Bureaucrats that Rule Your HealthCare.
For anyone who thinks they may have the solution or thinks someone else may have the solution to US health care, whether on the left or right, conservative or liberal, this book is critical. Weber’s journey is historical and shows a very concerted effort to bring the US exactly to the place it’s in right now: staring down the 2700 page Affordable Care Act that no one read before passage that threatens the stability of the entire foundation of the US economy and constitution.
The sad fact is that Obamacare is not about reducing costs or improving care, it’s about increasing the MediCrats’ control over our health! The winners and losers were chosen in advance. Read about who endorsed the plan, and what they got for their endorsements.
ObamaCare mandated everyone to own health insurance, but not really health “insurance.” Instead, what is called “insurance” is actually expensive, prepaid health care – and there are far better alternatives. Look to the details – who prospers from our overly complex health care system? Big Government, Big Medicine, Big Pharma – but what about individuals? There are far better ways to buy medical and mental health care services, products, and medicines than to subscribe to over-priced “insurance” plans. This book digs into the stakeholders who add cost, but little value, and clearly demonstrates workable and affordable alternatives.
With the preface by John Goodman, PhD, and the foreword by Lee Kurisko, MD, this easy to read book will help you to understand much of the waste in health care and what to do about it.
