The Weird World of Colonoscopy Costs

Not all medical tests or scans are easy or painless. No one likes to get a colonoscopy, but it is a great way to screen for colorectal cancer. The cost of this procedure varies widely from state to state, and even within the same city. Other medical procedures vary in price as well.  A procedure in the physician’s office costs less than a surgery center or hospital because there is no facility fee or anesthesiologist fee. When patients have more information about all the costs for a procedure, what their share will be, and the quality of the physicians, they can make their own choice for their medical care.  On MediBid, patients pay $400-1300 for an all inclusive colonoscopy.
