“James Lansberry is with Samaritan Ministries which is a faith-based, cost-sharing organization, Christian cost-sharing organization, which has an exemption from Obamacare.”
James Lansberry is vice president of the Public Policy Department at Samaritan Ministries International and also serves as president of the Alliance of Health Care Sharing Ministries. Lansberry’s areas of expertise are health care economics, general bioethics and health care public policy. He has a particular interest in seeing Christians practice Biblical community with regard to their health care. He believes that many of the challenges facing us in the current health care crisis could be resolved by the application of biblical principles. Leadership in initiating the application of sound biblical truth is desperately needed and must come from the Christian community. He also believes that Christians should speak out on abortion, stem cell research, and matters of conscience in the health care field.
Lansberry’s media resume is extensive. He has been a guest on dozens of radio programs, including “The G. Gordon Liddy Show,” “Crosstalk America,” and “The Laurie Roth Show.” He has also appeared on “The CBS Evening News” and Fox Business Network and has been interviewed for the Washington Post and U.S. News and World Report, and spoken at the Christian Leadership Alliance training institute. James has had articles published in Heritage Forum, the Journal of Modern Ministry, and Every Thought Captive.
James joined MediTalk this week to talk about how members of health care sharing ministries like Samaritan are exempt from the individual mandate portion of the Patient Protection and Care Act, or the health care reform law. But we don’t live in a vacuum, meaning that many other aspects of the PPACA will have an impact on all of us, even if we don’t have to buy health insurance. But what will those impacts be?
